Hello, I just bought a pair of the BIamps on ebay. They are a crossover as well as an amp and have 100 watts for the lows and 50 watts for the highs RMS per channel. They are in the 1978 MI catalog at the library site. I have a copy of the manula coming with the units i won. They crossover at 500, 800. and 1500. If you want to sell them let me know as i have a project in mind i could use them on

You've got two options.
this place sells copies of the user/service manual

Or post a pic of the connections you don't understand and somebody will explain them.
If the woofer doesn't make sound, it's likely a connection, the woofer, or the amp in that order.
Hook an old speaker you don't care about to the amp. If you get sound, it means is either the cabling or woofer.
You can go directly to the woofer and apply power from a small battery to the terminals. You should get a click. If not, bad woof.
Hopefully this helps you isolate the problem.

I have one of these 19609c and 1 altec horn, and one large woofer in a box, i dint check the manufacture of it. In any case, I cannot hear the woofer, wich is screwed into the "Low" position, just the tweety Horn. I flipped all the switches like crazy too, if anyone has a list of what all the points of attachment on the back are for, that would be great too. If you cant tell, im new to Altec, and audio for that matter, so any help would be great!
